To reach the Arcomagno, there are two main entrances: one on the north side and one on the south side.
The north side entrance is located in the direction of the Fiuzzi beaches, in the Arcomagno area. The path is more challenging and less suitable for children and elderly visitors.
The south side entrance, instead, can be reached from Marinella Beach and is generally easier to access.

FAQ

  • Take the dedicated shuttle to Arcomagno, included in your entry ticket, to reach Marinella Beach. The shuttle stop is located at the “Sotto Viadotto” municipal parking area (please note: the parking fee is not included).
The first ride departs at 7:45 AM, and the last return from the beach is at 8:00 PM.

  • You can park in the town center of San Nicola Arcella in the municipal parking areas and take the urban municipal shuttle (when in service) to reach Marinella Beach.

  • In Località I Gabbiani, at the “Grotta Arcomagno” private parking, from June 1st to August 31st, a discounted rate is available for Arcomagno visitors.

Important: Near the beach clubs, there are no dedicated parking spots for Arcomagno visitors — only private paid parking is available.

Having food and drinks (except water); smoking; bringing bulky items (umbrellas, deck chairs, cooler bags, beach toys, inflatables); entering barefoot; lingering under the rock and close to the cave; swimming under the arch.

Yes, on a leash, complying with the rules for collecting waste.

No, passage under the arch is prohibited and subject to criminal penalties.

No, il passaggio sotto l’arco è interdetto e sanzionabile penalmente.

The ticket is not to “buy” nature, but to guarantee a service: in particular, surveillance. Having staff present every day from April to October is very costly, and it would not be sustainable without a contribution from those who use the service.

Actually, no. Most of the cost is indeed surveillance, but that alone is not sufficient: the ticket office provides a real welcome and orientation service, where the rules and what can or cannot be done are explained. It’s a bit like entering a museum without any reception at the entrance: a fundamental part of the experience and proper management would be missing.

Absolutely not: all profits are reinvested in maintenance, promotion, urban decor, and events. There is no profit motive: management is entrusted to a non-profit association, not a private entity.
Moreover, every year at the end of the season, the Pro Loco publishes a detailed financial report of all expenses, precisely to guarantee maximum transparency in management.

The 30 minutes refer only to the time on the beach, not to the path. It should be remembered that the time needed to reach Arcomagno is not included, and the trails themselves are already a beautiful experience, full of scenic views.
The 30-minute rule was introduced to solve a real problem: in the past, the beach would fill up early in the morning and remain occupied all day, preventing others from visiting it. With the time limit, everyone now has the chance to enjoy it.

In the past there was a heavy crowding of boats, canoes, pedal boats… which made the place chaotic and unsafe. In addition, passing under the arch is risky: stones or other material may fall from above. Finally, if access from the sea were allowed, the whole idea of regulation would collapse, since everyone could enter freely and it would no longer be possible to control the flows.

The trail is natural and may have some roughness, but that is precisely its charm. In naturalistic paths, invasive interventions cannot (and should not) be carried out, as they would alter the environment. Minimal safety measures have been implemented, but always with full respect for the surroundings.

Yes, those who enter from either of the two access points (North or South) can freely exit from the same side or from the opposite one. However, if you choose to exit from the opposite side and then want to re-enter, you will need to purchase a new ticket. This is because it counts as a new entry. The rule also serves to maintain order and correctly monitor the flow of visitors: continuous passage from one side to the other would not allow effective control.
